We went on our annual trip to Charleston this weekend. Sydney got to ride in her new car seat on the trip, but she did not like it too much. On the first day, we went to a plantation called Middleton Place. It was very fun, and reminded me of the place we went when I was Sydney’s age.  I had a great time walking around and exploring and Sydney enjoyed crawling through the grass and playing with the leaves and flowers.  We saw lots of neat things.  There were huge trees that had really low branches that I got to climb on.  We walked by the river and saw ducks and other neat birds.  Then when we were resting on one of the benches and having a snack and daddy looked across the pond and there was an alligator on the other side!  It was just sitting there being very, very still.  We watched it for awhile, but then thought we’d better get going in case it decided to take a swim!  Next we saw some neat animals like roosters, a peacock, horses, and even a baby lamb that had just been born a few hours before.  We had a really good time at the plantation.  The next day we went to the beach.  It was a little cold and windy, but we still had a great time.  Sydney really enjoyed digging in the sand, but she kept wanting to put it in her mouth!  I had fun walking in the cold water and letting the waves chase me back up the beach.  We walked under the huge pier and I like playing in the puddles of water around the posts.  After that we got to walk on the pier all the way out to the end.  There were lots of people fishing, but no one had caught anything.  It was neat to be out over the ocean, but it was getting too windy and cold, so we had to go.  Me and Sydney had such a fun trip to Charleston!
