I turned seven months old today. I am very strong now. I can sit up all by myself! I love playing with my toys and now it’s much easier! Something very weird happened this month, though. There are these two hard bumps in my mouth. Mommy and daddy keep telling me to smile and show my teeth?? I’m not sure what they mean, but I guess that’s what those bumps are called. They really kind of hurt at first, but they are starting to feel better. I have noticed that it’s easier to bite things now, so that will come in handy when I start eating mommy and daddy foods!
I am just about ready to crawl, too. I can push myself up onto my hands and knees, but I’m not sure what to do next. I kind of just rock back and forth and then scoot backwards. I can get around pretty good though, just sliding and pushing on my belly. I can easily roll over both ways now, which sometimes gets me in trouble because I end up running into things.
I’ve started talking a lot more. I can say all sorts of words. Mommy and daddy keep telling me to say dada or mama, but I haven’t figured out how to do that yet.
I get tired of being at home all day, so mommy and me usually go out to lots of different stores (I think she enjoys it as much as I do!). It’s fun to see new things and new people. And the really cool thing is instead of always being in my stroller sometimes she puts me in the big red cart at our favorite store Target. I love sitting up front and up high where I can see and reach out and grab stuff.
I’m doing much better with my food, too. Sometimes I even open up my mouth for mommy without any help from daddy’s funny antics. I’ve also discovered that I like to drink really cold ice water from daddy’s glass at dinner time. He lets me help him hold it and I take a few sips. It’s sooo cold, but it feels good on my teeth. Sometimes I like to put my hands in it and play with the ice cubes. They sure are slippery.
